Meet Barbara Dircks
Barbara is a
Paralegal/Lawyer Assistant with the firm, whose
responsibilities include: preparation of Asset
Protection and Estate Plan documents for our
client’s as directed by the attorneys; providing
assistance to our clients and their financial
advisors in coordinating assets with their estate
plans; providing extensive support services to our
attorneys in connection with Probate Estate
Administration; Guardianship and Conservatorship
Proceedings, and Probate and Trust Litigation
Matters.
Barbara enjoys
working with our clients and takes a personal
interest in each matter in which she is involved.
Our clients appreciate Barbara’s insights and
assistance in connection with the resolution of
their problems.
Experience
Barbara has been
employed by law firms form over 40 years and has
gained extensive and valuable experience in a number
of legal areas including Estate Planning, Estate and
Trust Administration; preparation of Federal and
State Estate Tax Returns and necessary
documentation, Probate Litigation, Business and Real
Estate Transactions. She is very proud of the fact
that our clients often commend her on being a person
they can contact if they need to get something done.
Education
After completing her
elementary and high school education, Barbara
attended Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison,
New Jersey, where she obtained her Paralegal
Certification while achieving an Honors award for a
grade level of 97%. She continues to attend seminars
and various presentations to keep up-to-date on the
latest changes affecting her areas of expertise.
Personal
Barbara grew up in
Northeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Her
daughter attended GMI (now Kettering University) and
loved Michigan enough to move here on a permanent
basis. Barbara then decided to move to Michigan to
pursue her professional career and be near her
daughter and grandchildren.
Some of her favorite
things are making clothes for her granddaughters,
machine embroidery, reading, and traveling
throughout the United States. She resides in
Waterford with her faithful dog and companion,
Claymore.
Meet Regina (Dee) Lassen
Dee is the firm’s
Legal Secretary and Receptionist. One of her most
important responsibilities is greeting our clients
both in person and on the phone and directing them
to the member of our staff who can best respond to
their immediate need. Clients have commented that
Dee makes them comfortable when they contact the
firm and puts them at ease as they deal with our
office. Dee has excellent and friendly communication
skills and truly enjoys her position and her
interaction with clients and the staff here at the
firm.
Dee also handles the
preparation of our clients’ documents using a
carefully prepared Word Processing System. She is
also responsible for maintaining time and billing
records, and assists our clients in the execution of
their estate planning documents.
Education and Experience
Dee graduated
from Edsel Ford High School in Dearborn. She worked
in the Office of General Counsel at the Ford Motor
Company for six years before coming to work for the
firm. Dee has been a trusted and valuable member of
our staff for 17 years.
Personal
Dee was born and
raised in Dearborn, Michigan. She moved to Dearborn
Heights where she raised her family and resided for
25 years. In 1996 she moved downriver to Southgate
and later to Brownstown, where she currently
resides. Dee enjoys participating in her church, and
is a long time member of her church choir. She is
very supportive of her family and all of the Detroit
professional sport teams.
